City Council Members
I am Rufus Lee Council Member representing District 1. I have represented this district for 25 years having been the first and only representative elected since its creation through redistricting in 1988. I have also served as past Mayor Pro-Tem for the City for three terms. I am a lifelong resident of Geneva married to the former Betty Joyce Tyrues. We have four children. I hold an M.S. in Education from Troy State University, Dothan and am a retired educator/administrator with 30+ year of experience. In addition to my position of Council Member I have held and still hold various positions on numerous church, civic, political and non-profit boards and committees.

My name is Freddy McCoy and I am the City Council Representative for District 2. I graduated from Geneva High School in 1965. After finishing school I served in the US Army and I am a Vietnam Veteran. After my time in the army I became a firefighter at Fort Rucker until my retirement in 1998. Also I have ran McCoy's Lawn Care since 1986. I am married to Debbie McCoy and we have three children Scott McCoy, Brad McCoy and Tammy Quattlebaum. They have blessed us with seven grandchildren Hunter, Hayden, Halli, Aden, Layla, Addison and Logan. I am looking forward to working with the citizen's of our city to make Geneva a better place.
Kim Gillespie is the Chief School Financial Officer of the Geneva City School System and currently serves as District 3 City Council Representative for the City of Geneva. As Chief School Financial Officer, she is responsible for the financial management of the system. In addition to her primary function, she also performs all payroll responsibilities and well as teacher certification. With 33 years of governmental accounting experience, she has managed to use her past experiences to implement money saving measures for the school, as well as bring fresh operating ideas with her from her previous jobs with both Coffee and Geneva County Commissions. She is a graduate of the inaugural class of Leadership Geneva County.

Kim is a 1997 graduate of Troy University in Dothan, where she majored in Accounting. She is a lifelong resident of Geneva, where she resides with her husband, Barry. They have four children and four grandchildren. Her hobbies include furniture refinishing, crafting, and gardening. She and her family are members of Trinity Church in Geneva.
Ryan Tidwell has served three consecutive terms on the Geneva City Council, representing District 4. Mr. Tidwell has served as Chairman of the Geneva Tree Committee, Vice-President of the Geneva Lions Club, and as a Deacon at First Baptist Church in Geneva, AL. Mr. Tidwell also teaches United States Government, Macroeconomics, United States History, and World History at Geneva High School. Mr. Tidwell earned his Bachelor's Degree from Troy University in Criminal Justice and his Masters in History from the University of North Alabama. Mr. Tidwell is married to Mrs. Hannah Tidwell, who teaches at James A. Mulkey Elementary School. The Tidwell's have two sons, Harrison and John Tidwell.

My name is Mike Fountain and I am a life- long resident of Geneva and have lived in District 6 for over 40 years. My wife, Brenda, and I have 3 children, Drew, Heath & Anna. Drew is married to Lauren Ketchum Fountain and Heath is married to Paige Howell Fountain. And we are blessed with 4 grandchildren - Ella-Grace, Ryles, Griffin and Alli-Kate.

I served previously on the Board of Adjustments and volunteered 25+ years with Geneva Recreation Department. I am also an active member of Shady Grove Assembly of God.
My desire is to serve the people in District 6, as well as, the city of Geneva. As City Councilman, I am available to serve and help any way I can. My door will always be open to the citizens of Geneva. Looking forward to serving Geneva and help make it a better place to live for us and future generations.

I am Daniel Coleman, and I am honored to represent District 7. My lifelong connection to Geneva began when I was born at Wiregrass Hospital. I have lived and worked in or near Geneva my entire life. I am a 1987 graduate of Bethlehem High School and a 2002 graduate of McArthur State. My wife, Janice, our daughter, Tabitha, and our daughter, Kali, are all graduates of Geneva High School. As a local self-employed carpenter, a youth sports official, a bus driver for Geneva City Schools, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Geneva Lions Club, I am civic-minded and enjoy working with the people of Geneva.
